Contract Update 9-14-23

The negotiations have concluded and have been successful. The company's Last, Best, and Final offer will be available on the Local Lodge Website Friday afternoon 9/15 on this page. Hard copies will be available 9/18, Thank you for your patience.

Contract Update 9-12-23

The committee and the company are well into the second economic propasal and working through many aspects of it in a timely manner. Progress is fair and respectful. We will continue to update as information becomes available. thank you.

Contract Update 9-11-23

The committee met with the company today and we gave them our initial economic proposal. We are waiting on a counter proposal, things are moving smoothly. We will update daily or as needed.

The contract ratification vote will be held Friday September 22nd at the Windber Community Building from 9am to 12pm

Update from the committee:

Contract Agreement Date - Moved to Economics

Overtime Hours & Language- Moved to Econmics

Senority for Salaried positions are favorable for the union.

Job bidding - Moved to Economics

Temporary Transfers - Looking favorable for union

Discipline - Maintain current status

The mitigation of infractions and discipline that took place for the 2018 CBA, was a one time occurence and will not take place this CBA.

Union Representation - Favorable for the union.

Non Bargaining Employees doing Bargaining work - Language clarrification at the table.

Group insurance plans - Moved to Economics

Attendance - Maintain and some favorable language.

Subcontrating - Favorable Language

Technology Advancements - Maintain current Language

Chemical Maintenance - Moved to Economics

The next round of Negotiations are the week of Sept 11th

Voting to be held Sept 22nd.

Contract Update 8-4-23

The committee is aware that the membership is requesting specifics of the non-economics recently debated. Negotiations are not over until September when they give us there last best and final. The process is not different than and previous CBA. The committee (like previous) is mindful and resepectful of the memberships appetite for details. Revealing sensitive details that are subject to change will only cause additional chaos, confusion, and rumors that the company will feed off of. It is best to negotiate at the bargaining table and not on the shop floor. The confidentiality also allows the committee to focus on negotiations instead of putting out countless fires due to rumors and misunderstandings.

The goal is to have the last, best, and final in the hands of the membership (1) one week prior to the ratification vote, which is the what the membership requested for.

Thank you for understanding and patience during this process. When negotiations are complete, all details will be available along with Q & A during the meeting.
